He recipe once again blends the Christmas symbol of the northern italian confectionery tradition with the ingredients and flavours of the south. Fine flours of sicilian origin are the raw material of the typical milanese creation. The fragrance and fluffy lightness of the dough are further enhanced by tender candied orange and citron, fruits that cannot but evoke the intensity of the island’s unmistakable fragrances. To make this sensory experience even more memorable, pasticceria Fiasconaro has chosen to accentuate the notes of candied orange and raisins with vecchio Samperi, one of the emblems of the winemaking tradition of Marsala. Known as a perpetual wine, its name perfectly explains its main feature, which is the “perpetuation”, or continuous aging of the wine in the same barrel. Through a system of replacement, every time the aged nectar is removed, new wine is added - essentially a “perpetual topping up” that mixes the vintages, infusing them with all the organoleptic substances released by the barrel. An elegant glass bottle with nebulizer, containing the sicilian vecchio Samperi, has been purposely designed to complete this extraordinary journey into flavour with a new and special ritual: by spraying a few drops on slices of panettone, the aroma of the wine already present in the recipe is enhanced, thereby heightening the enjoyment of the sweetness and uniqueness of this combination of flavours. A tin box, embellished with the decorative motifs of the sicilian cart designed by master artists, completes this splendid union of creative excellence and the highest quality of artisanal confectionery.
